Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) in Inverness and the Highlands

Emotional freedom technique

What is emotional freedom technique?

Emotional freedom technique is a safe and simple technique that anyone can use. Emotional freedom techniques (EFT) is the technique of tapping your hands on key locations on your body. It is often described as acupuncture without needles.

Once learned (and it’s super quick and easy to learn), you will be able to continue to help yourself at home whenever you want. It is a therapy that is gentle, safe, and non-invasive and you will see its effects straight away, without involving months of therapy.

Although you may not have heard of emotional freedom technique, you may be familiar with therapies of acupressure, shiatsu, and kinesiology. These are all part of the energy therapies family tree of which emotional freedom technique is also a part. Emotional freedom technique teaches us new ways to control our emotions and helps make emotions work for us instead of against us.

What to expect from emotional freedom technique therapy

Your therapist will begin by exploring the challenges you’d like to address and helping you identify clear therapeutic goals. You’ll then be guided through a gentle tapping sequence using specific acupressure points on the face and upper body whilst focusing on thoughts, emotions, memories, or physical sensations associated with the issue.

You remain fully aware and in control throughout the session. There is no hypnosis, and you will never be asked to do anything that feels uncomfortable or beyond your readiness.

As therapy progresses, many clients learn practical tapping techniques they can use independently between appointments to help manage anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, and everyday challenges.
